friend, thank you for your commitment to pray for the persecuted. We’re so glad you’ve joined us to remember and lift up people who are under threat and still live their faith.

Here are some brief starting thoughts to help guide your time of prayer today.

Sample Prayers:

  • For the Persecuted: "We lift up those who are persecuted for their beliefs and faith. We ask for protection and peace over their lives. May they experience your loving presence in the midst of suffering and find comfort in knowing they are not alone. We pray that their faith would remain strong and that they would be surrounded by communities of support."
  • For the Displaced:
"We pray for those who have been forced to leave their homes due to violence, disaster, or persecution. May they find safe shelter, receive the help they need, and feel the love of those who welcome them. Please restore their hope and provide them with the resources to rebuild their own lives with dignity."
  • For the Rebuilding:
"We ask for strength and wisdom for those who are rebuilding their homes and livelihoods after destruction by enemies of their faith. Give them the tools, resources, and opportunities to create a new future. May their efforts be fruitful, and may they experience peace as they restore what has been lost."
  • For the Work of Shai Fund:
"We pray for the work of Shai Fund, as they serve the displaced and the persecuted. May their efforts be guided by compassion, and may the lives they touch be transformed by the love and support they provide. We ask for protection over their workers and for the communities they help to experience lasting peace and security."

Thank you for committing to pray today. Use these prayers to guide your reflections, and remember those who are suffering. Together, we can lift up the voices of the persecuted, believing that prayer begins transformation.

Here at Shai Fund we will regularly communicate with you on updates on our work of crisis relief and then empowering the persecuted to rebuild their lives.

If you want to provide direct aid to the persecuted today in addition to your prayers, please donate now.

With Christian populations having dropped from 20% to 4% of the Middle East & North Africa population over the past century, Christians are at risk of disappearing in the region.

In Syria today, the Christian population declined from 1.7 million in 2011 to less than 450,000; and in Iraq, Christian numbers slumped from 1.5 million before 2003 to less than 220,000. Converts are particularly vulnerable in almost all states in the MENA region.

Shai supports religious minorities in regions where they are under high levels of persecution.

We form strong, trusting bonds with local communities in need. The training we offer, and the strategic partnerships we create, helps them build long-term resilience and achieve sustainable recovery.

By investing in small businesses with financial assistance, education, and vocational training we help restore dignity & sustainable livelihoods.

By providing urgent medical supplies during emergencies and post-trauma care to assist in mental health and psychosocial wellbeing we help communities recover.

Since 2014, Shai Fund has directly assisted over 600,000 people with practical and immediate assistance. It is important to us not only to provide aid but to give people the tools and education they need so they can direct their own recovery.

To date, we’ve

  • Opened an emergency medical center in northeast Syria and welcomed 4,252 patients last year.
  • Supported the launch of 110 small businesses by Iraqi Christians on the Ninevah plain after their homes and livelihoods were destroyed by ISIS.
  • Provided protection for religious minorities facing persecution across Sudan, Somaliland, and Afghanistan.

We cannot continue this life-changing work without you.

Your gift helps us bring peace, safety, and stability to vulnerable communities living in conflict and crisis because others violently hate their faith. You offer them hope and the opportunity to rebuild their lives.
